Rashtriya Youth Innovation Challenge 2026?

SEWA FIRST – Rashtriya Youth Innovation Challenge (RYIC) 2026 is a national platform that empowers India's youth to identify real problems in their own surroundings and transform them into sustainable, affordable and implementable solutions. Launched at Delhi Technological University on 19 September 2026, the 100-day Challenge brings together students, researchers, educational institutions, industry, government and mentors to take innovations from problem identification and ideation to design, prototyping, validation and implementation. Rooted in the spirit of Sewa First, RYIC seeks to nurture innovation, leadership and entrepreneurship while creating solutions that deliver meaningful impact for communities and the nation.

THEMES

The Rashtriya Youth Innovation Challenge 2026 focuses on two broad themes:

National Level Innovations addressing critical national priorities in Defence, Space & National Security, Disaster Management, AI, Robotics, Manufacturing, Energy, Environment, Infrastructure and Future Mobility

Local Community Level Innovations addressing grassroots challenges in Agriculture & Rural Development, Education, Healthcare, Urban Problems, Environment, Sports, Employment & Livelihood, Women & Child Safety, Disaster Management, Transport, Energy and Tourism. The themes encourage youth to develop innovative, affordable, sustainable, scalable and implementable solutions that transform real-world problems into meaningful impact.

Ideate

Days 1–15 • 15 Sep – 1 Oct 2026

Launch of 50 National Problem Statements, online orientation, team registrations, and idea submissions.

Screen

Days 16–30 • 2 – 16 Oct 2026

Preliminary eligibility scrutiny, regional screening, and announcement of shortlisted teams.

03

Build

Days 31–60 • 17 Oct – 15 Nov 2026

Expert bootcamps, laboratory/maker-space access, design reviews, and working prototype fabrication.

04

Validate

Days 61–80 • 16 Nov – 5 Dec 2026

Technical benchmarking, safety/reliability testing, and performance validation.

05

Test

Days 81–95 • 6 – 20 Dec 2026

Field demonstrations in real environments, usability testing, and cost/sustainability reviews.

06

Select

Days 96–100 • 21 – 25 Dec 2026

Final report submissions and Regional Jury evaluations to nominate finalists for Delhi.
